The Akron, Ohio congregation is pleased to announce that it will celebrate its 50^th anniversary on July 4, 2009. Established on July 4, 1959, Akron has been the home to many brethren and ministers over its fifty year history.

The celebration will begin on the Sabbath of July 4 with combined services at Akron's normal location at North High School, 985 Gorge Blvd. Akron, Ohio 44310 at 2:30 P.M.  UCG-ia President Clyde Kilough, pastor of the Akron congregation from 1993 to 1996, will be our special guest speaker. After services, activities will move to Emidio & Son's Banquet Center for an elegant evening commemorating 50 years of faithfulness to God's truth in Akron.

The evening will begin at 6:00 P.M. with fellowship and cocktails. During this time, members will enjoy displays of historical pictures from Akron's fifty year history. A buffet style dinner will be served. Following dinner, a special multimedia presentation on the history of the Akron Church congregation will be presented by Pastor Mr. Dave Myers followed by comments from former Akron pastors. A dance will begin at 9:00 P.M. and run until 11:00 P.M.

Cost for the event will be $28 per adult 13 and older, and $16 per children 12 and younger. Registration forms can be found below. Please plan to join us for this special day marking fifty years of God's Church in Akron.
